Fall is in full bloom at the Tampa Orchid Club, and we’ve had an exciting season of learning, exploring, and sharing our love for orchids!
🌿 October Meeting Recap

We had the pleasure of hosting Tristan Ingram from Palmer’s Orchids, who gave us a fantastic course on the basics of integrated pest management (IPM) for orchids. Tristan shared practical tips to help us keep our collections healthy and thriving:
Inspect new orchids before adding them to your collection.
Sterilize tools with a torch before cutting, and disinfect benches and work areas regularly.
Wear protective gear, including long sleeves, gloves, eye protection, and a mask or respirator, when applying insecticides or fungicides.
Avoid spraying on windy days, and never work in treated areas until dry.
And most importantly, always read the label for proper dosage and product compatibility.
Palmer’s Orchids also brought along a beautiful selection of orchids for purchase, which made the evening even more enjoyable. A big thank-you to Tristan and Palmer’s Orchids for sharing their expertise and gorgeous plants with us!
