Tampa Orchid Club Spring Happenings: Monthly Meetings, Beautiful Bloom Table & The Annual Auction

Peek Back To February

Our February meeting of the Tampa Orchid Club was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and, of course, beautiful orchids! Members gathered for a fun round of Orchid Bingo, a lighthearted activity that brought everyone together and gave participants a chance to win orchid-themed prizes. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, hear the cheers when someone called “Bingo,” and connect.

Along with the bingo fun, we also enjoyed many of the regular meeting highlights that make our monthly gatherings so special. The Bloom Table once again showcased a stunning variety of orchids brought in by members, demonstrating the incredible diversity and beauty within our collections.

Lana Peterson took home ribbons in both categories, Member's Choice and Judge's Choice Awards for her stunning Phalaenopsis schilleriana and Cattleya Blc. Mahina Yahiro 'Julie' Splash

Each month throughout the year, we will upload photos of the Bloom Table submissions, along with the winners, so members can revisit the displays and enjoy the orchids showcased. If there was a bloom you missed or one you want to admire again, be sure to bookmark the page and check back regularly as new albums are added.

Don’t Miss Our March Meeting

Schomburgkia orchid

Our next TOC monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, and we have a fantastic program lined up. We are excited to welcome guest speaker Raphael, owner of Plantio La Orquidea in Sarasota, who will be presenting a program on Schomburgkia orchids. These striking orchids are known for their dramatic spikes and impressive presence, and Raphael will share his knowledge and growing tips for successfully cultivating them.

Even better, Raphael will also bring plants for sale and contribute orchids to our meeting raffle, so attendees will have the opportunity to take home something special.

🌸 Save the Date: TOC Annual Orchid Auction – April 4 🌸

One of the most anticipated events of the year is right around the corner! Join us on Saturday, April 4th , for the Tampa Orchid Club Annual Auction, taking place at the USF Botanical Gardens.

The auction will once again be led by Laura Newton, whose expert auctioneer skills, combined with humor and educational orchid facts, make the event both entertaining and informative.
